Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest exists when professional judgement may be influenced by a secondary interest such as financial gain or personal relationships.

Authors

  • Declare funding and relevant relationships; state when there is no conflict of interest.

Reviewers

  • Decline when there is a collaborative, institutional or personal relationship with the authors.

Editors

  • Do not handle manuscripts from their own institution or close collaborators; board members' submissions are handled by another editor.
