Types of Post-publication Notices
- Correction (Erratum / Corrigendum) — for honest errors that do not affect the main conclusions. A new version of the article is published and the change is described in a linked notice.
- Expression of Concern — issued while an investigation into possible misconduct or unreliable data is ongoing.
- Retraction — for clear evidence of unreliable findings, plagiarism, duplicate publication, image manipulation or unethical research. The article remains online, watermarked "RETRACTED", with a notice explaining the reason.
- Removal — only in exceptional legal cases; the metadata and a notice remain available.
How to Request a Correction
Authors or readers should email the editorial office with the article title, the issue identified and supporting evidence. The Editor-in-Chief decides on the appropriate action after consulting the authors.
